Welcome to Rocks, Maps and Crafts.com – the online home for my small business.

Here you will find fiber and jewelry art as I explore color and light and texture. My attention to detail and focus on quality go hand in hand with my love of color and my creative process to make exceptional pieces that I hope will bring you joy.

When I make jewelry, I’m focused on color and the play of light across the surface. Necklaces are almost always knotted silk cord – great for sensitive skin and incorporating my love of fiber into my jewelry creations – bracelets have secure clasps that are easy to put on. I use the highest quality crystals made in Austria, natural gemstones, handmade lampwork art glass, freshwater pearls and crystal-pearls, with Czech glass and the occasional silver-plated fine pewter accent. Earrings are wire-wrapped, often clusters, that coordinate with necklaces or take the stage solo. Continuing the theme of high quality materials, I use Argentium Silver, Sterling Silver or Niobium for what metals may touch your skin. I do work in gold-fill for custom orders.

My fiber art is all about color and texture and rhythm – whether weaving or crochet – it’s about the process AND the finished creation. I use a wide variety of yarns and support other artists, who hand-dye yarn and design patterns, when I can. I also appreciate the accessibility of commercially dyed yarn and am very fond of what can be (gently) machine washed. The yarns I create with range from baby alpaca, merino, and lambswool, to silk, cotton and bamboo, to acrylic and nylon and polyfiber. I have a preference for jewel tones and rainbows, but I’ve been pushing my own boundaries for over a decade and at this point all the colors get to play!

I mainly sell through my Etsy shop but I also take custom orders and am working on a SquareSpace shop. I will activate that link when it’s ready.
